Dutch into English translation is our major focus and we translate several million words/annum in this pairing for large IT, engineering clients, MNCs, translation agencies from India and overseas. In fact, our office name is Kantoor (Office in Dutch) as this is the language pairing in which we got the maximum volume of translation work in early 2000s. How do we do it?
We believe in translating in context using domain experts. We do in-depth terminology research in-house. Please refer to our Terminology Management Process for details.
We had procured Dutch-English dictionaries (printed and CD-ROM) directly from publishers (Kluwer, Van Dale, Gateway, etc.) and from stores such as De Slegte, IntertaaL, Scheltema, Kok’s etc. during our several visits to The Netherlands.
Netherlands clients get flabbergasted when they see photos of our large collection of dictionaries during our presentation at their office. They are pleasantly surprised that an Indian agency has spent a small fortune in painstakingly building one of the largest collections of modern Dutch-English dictionaries amongst translation agencies worldwide. It builds confidence in them to outsource their Dutch into English translation requirement to us (for example, Oracle Nederlands, Sogeti, and such like). Similarly, we handle complete Dutch into English translation projects for several Netherlands and Belgian translation agencies.

Case study on translation of a very large IT application for a Dutch bank (Dutch into English translation)
We have done a very large translation project from Dutch into English of a banking software. The documents related to use cases, manuals, presentations, and such like. We were required to deliver 150,000 words per week (600,000 words per month). We had to deploy 12 translators, 3 reviewers, two terminologists, two PMs (working in shifts), 4 formatters.
Key challenges faced: update of translation memory and terminology database on daily basis; bi-weekly delivery to the client, file management, e-mail management. Our deep knowledge of computer-assisted translation tools proved to be a boon for this project.
